Main features of DynamicSync
Dynamic filters for attribute-based Entra ID groups
A main feature of DynamicSync are the dynamic filters for attribute-based groups. They allow filtering Entra ID users according to selected Entra ID attributes.
By enabling the filter, attributes can be selected from a drop-down list and precisely defined by specific values. DynamicSync filters out the matching members and assigns them to a target group.
Various Entra ID attributes are suitable as filters, such as:
- ‘department’ for filtering department groups
- ‘officeLocation’ for filtering office locations
- ‘preferredLanguage’ for filtering language specific groups
Synchronization of M365 and security groups
In addition, the application enables the fast synchronization of cloud groups. This means that all source groups in Entra ID can be synchronized with other groups in the cloud.
Source groups include all groups synchronized from AD, as well as M365 groups and security groups. Available target groups are M365 groups as well as Entra ID security groups.
Synchronized AD groups for MS Teams
More and more companies are using Microsoft Teams as a collaboration platform. Using DynamicSync, you can create new teams in Microsoft Teams from AD groups.
With synchronization, various permissions and security levels are passed on, such as:
- Teams access
- File storage in SharePoint
- License assignments
- Mobile Apps (Outlook etc.)
